Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in Europe with more than 3000 years and everything has started in the neighborhoods of Alfama and Mouraria. The Phoenicians, the Romans, the Visigoths and the Moors were some of the civilizations who lived around here and have left their influence until Lisbon was conquered by D. Afonso Henriques, the first King of Portugal in 1147.
